Before the individual state governments approve the much needed legislation, many assisted living facilities were only private pay situations. Fortunately, for many older Americans face dilemmas of the casing, the waiver programs of Medicaid have taken much of the play did not do so Sickness. XII. Ohio - Ohio Department of Aging is responsible for determining the candidates 'eligibility waiver, disability assessment, forecasting, and financial assets for the appropriate placement in assisted living facilities.

xiii. Rhode Island - aged and disabled individuals that provide assisted living services and block management, and specialized medical equipment.

xiv. Vermont - provide Medicaid recipients eligible for services under options for assisted living care, waiver of Medicaid long-term care 1115, as well as a number of other options of care.

xv. Virginia - the state 'programs in the Medicaid waiver s apply only to individuals with Alzheimer ' disease or dementia of s that require the services of assisted living facilities. Depending on medical conditions, age limits can be in effect.

xvi. Washington - waiver program provides disabled and elderly residents in assisted living facilities.

xvii. West Virginia - aged and disabled program participants to provide adult residential care and assisted living services.
